An Arrival that Shakes Tahiti’s tranquil vibe:
Erin and Evan touched down at Faa’a International Airport, the gateway to Tahiti and the rest of our beautiful islands. Pape’ete: A melting pot of Old Tradition and Modern Vibrance
The itinerary begins in Pape’ete, Tahiti’s capital. Strolling around, Erin and Evan got a taste of local life and culture at ‘Le Marché’, the public market. Bursting with fresh produce, local crafts, and fragrant flowers, it encapsulated the rich Polynesian culture. They tasted ‘poisson cru,’ our traditional dish of lime-marinated raw fish with coconut milk.
A remarkable link in Tahiti’s cultural chain, the cuisine exemplifies the blending of our Polynesian roots and French influences.
They finished their day by exploring Pape’ete’s vibrant nightlife scene, teeming with live music, dance performances reflecting Polynesian’s fondness for Fauta (dance) and Raiatea (music).
Encounter with History: the Museum of Tahiti and Her Islands
The duo explored the islands’ history at The Museum of Tahiti and Her Islands. Here, they gained insight into the ancestral customs and traditions of native Polynesians, offering them a window into Tahitian evolution.
From Pape’ete to Moorea
For their next stop, Erin and Evan hopped on a ferry to Moorea. Known as the ‘sister island’ of Tahiti, Moorea offers unrivaled natural beauty. Home to luscious pineapple fields and breathtaking panoramic views, Moorea indeed represents an unspoiled Pacific paradise, preserving the rich Polynesian heritage amidst its pure topography.
